TREATMENT OPTIONS
Scoliosis is tragic.
It causes both physical pain and emotional suffering. This sideways bending of the spine shows up as abnormal posture and then, finally, deformity. If allowed to advance, it can interfere with the lungs, heart and many other vital organs.
There is hope!
Early detection can improve the likelihood of correction in KIDS/GROWING SPINES.
Early detection in ADULT scoliosis can improve overall health, appearance, progression, and pain.
Scoliosis affects boys, but not as frequently as girls, between the ages of 8 and 18. In adults, age 60 and up, scoliosis equally affects men and women.
Clothing that doesn’t fit correctly can be an early sign of scoliosis in kids or a degeneration of the spine in adults.
Any type of sideways curvature is abnormal. From the back, the spine should appear straight. When scoliosis is present, there are usually two curves: a primary curve in one direction and a compensatory curve in the opposite direction.
Early detection is critical. Sever cases can involve surgery. The procedure attaches steel rods to the spine to force it to straighten.
Care at the Spine & Scoliosis Clinic has helped many people avoid the unhappy effects of scoliosis progression and/or pain. The procedure is simple:
First, a thorough examination helps detect scoliosis in its early stage for kids and adults. Then, corrective action can begin at once. The course of care is individualized but can consist of the following but not limited to bracing, scoliosis specific exercises, and chiropractic biophysics care.
The best time for scoliosis or spine exam is now. As with the case of many health problems, early detection can improve the likelihood of correction or better outcomes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Standard physical therapy and exercises such as swimming or yoga do not help prevent, correct, nor stop the progression of scoliosis. However, there are special exercise and rehabilitation programs which have been designed to address the scoliosis curve and these have shown to be very effective in certain cases. When specialized scoliosis rehabilitation and exercise programs have been used in conjunction with bracing it has improved the results of hard bracing.
